My name is John Barney, and I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). I'm excited to embark on my journey as a Radiation Engineer and apply my skills and knowledge to explore the fascinating world of radiation effects on microelectronics.

Throughout my academic journey, I've developed a keen interest in simulations that enhance our understanding of radiation's impact on microelectronics. I'm driven by the desire to improve these simulations and contribute to the advancement of this field. I believe that by pushing the boundaries of knowledge, we can create more reliable and resilient technologies for the future.

When I'm not diving into the world of engineering, I enjoy a variety of hobbies. Jiu-jitsu, frisbee golfing, clay sport shooting, gaming, chess, and hiking are some of the activities that fuel my passion for exploration and personal growth. These hobbies provide me with a fresh perspective, sharpen my problem-solving skills, and help me maintain a well-rounded approach to life.

Beyond my technical expertise, one of my most valuable assets is my leadership ability. I had the opportunity to apply and develop my leadership skills while founding the gaming club at UTC. Through my dedication and vision, the club grew exponentially to over 700 members. Leading a diverse group of individuals taught me the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and the ability to inspire and motivate others towards a common goal.
